Cecile Zylyk
I was six years old when I happened to be looking through my sister's school book. There were several drawings of girls' faces which I thought were really nice. I started to copy those pictures and practiced until I could make them look like my sister's drawings. That was the beginning of my artistry.
During the Elementary School years I would enter my drawings into the Local Fair and was very pleased to win some First Prizes. My interest in painting came after I retired from Nursing and I took oil painting lessons from Dewey Zimerman in Vernon. My interest in painting nature, mountains and wildlife came a little later and I continue to enjoy it very much.
After moving to Kelowna I joined the Kelowna Palette Club and have been with the Club for almost sixteen years, during which time I have enjoyed each and every member.
