Who We Are
The Kelowna Palette Club is the one of the oldest of its type in the Central Okanagan having been continuously active since 1965. The club places considerable emphasis on artistic merit, all members having gone through a jury review process before joining. With a maximum of 25 members the mission of the club is to support the artistic achievements and growth of its members in mutual fellowship.
2022 Spring Show
PROGRAM
The club is active September through May when members get together weekly to paint, working in oils, acrylics, water colour or pen and ink as each member wishes. Currently we meet every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in South Mission. Once a month we hold an in-house critique session when members may show some of their current work for feed back by their colleagues. The club takes pride in being mutually supportive and in assisting each other's artistic development. The club organizes workshops and demonstrations for its members, usual inviting outside artists for this purpose although occasionally we may have an in-house presentation by a club member who is highly skilled in specific topic. Normally there are two workshops or demonstrations each year.

SHOWS
The club puts on one to two shows per year and encourages members who wish to participate in other art shows in the valley and further afield. For the last several years, the Club has put on its premier Spring show, SIMPLY ART, exhibiting recent work by its members. Images in the Spring Show are restricted to original works which have previously shown not more than once in a Kelowna Palette Club show. Considerable effort is taken to make this a memorable event, with a GALA opening night. In addition to this annual exhibition, the club may present another show in the Summer or Fall shows. To see images from past shows and for information about upcoming events please see the CLUB SHOWS page.

MEMBERS & DROP-IN GUESTS
Membership is limited to 25 artists. However, as space allows we may also have 5-6 other artists join our weekly sessions as "drop-in" guests. We welcome drop-in guests to paint with us for a small daily fee. Please contact us for further information.
HOW TO JOIN
When a space becomes available, the club appoints a jury panel to assess applicants wishing to join. Criteria considered by the panel include artistic ability, compatibility with the club's aims and its members, and commitment to attending and participating in club activities. Becoming a drop-in guest is an excellent avenue for becoming a full-time member, as this gives both the club and prospective members the opportunity to know each other in advance of membership space becoming available. To drop-in as a guest please contact us for details.
